First trademark location in Guilin was Elephant Trunk Hill 象鼻山. It was said to be the symbol of the city.
Don't U think the hill has a shape of elephant drinking water??
It was said that the Jade Emperor 玉皇大帝 & the Elephant deity came down to explore Guilin. When it was time to leave, Elephant deity fell in love with the beautiful Guilin & refused to leave. He made up an excuse saying he was in poor health. No choice, the Jade Emperor left, alone. Soon, he came to realise, the Elephant deity was very happy living in this mortal world. He instructed another deity to capture him. Though they fought for 3days & 3 nights, no winners was emerged. In the end, the deity witnessed the Elephant deity was drinking water & used the pagoda to stab behind of the elephant.
This was actually a myth but the mountain was all natural so whether U choose to believe this, is really up to U......
In the night, we went to visit Guilin Night City Tour 桂林夜景.
in fact, it was pretty cold in Guilin coz it had been drizzling for half of the afternoon. But i'm still loving the weather!!!!
