STANDARD FIRST AID TRAINING FOR CERT MEMBERS
The People's Association (PA) introduced the Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) at Residents� Committee/Neighbourhood Committee zonal levels to assist in strengthening the emergency preparedness and response capability of the community at the local level. During the emergency, CERT members will be required to provide on-site emergency assistance such as first aid, crowd control and evacuation.
2 To prepare you for your roles as a CERT member and to equip you with the skills so that you are in a better position to assist the emergency authorities should the need arises, the PA has scheduled a Standard First Aid Training for you. About 50% of the CERT members are selected to attend the training this year. Your participation in this programme is important for us to build up the response capability of the CERTs.
What will the Training cover?
3 The training is a two-day course covering both theory and practical training and is conducted by professional trainers from the Occupational Safety & Health Institute Pte Ltd (OSHI). I enclose the course contents for your reference.
What happen after I had completed the training?
4 You will be certified in Standard First Aid upon successful completion of the two-day training. The certificate is issued by OSHI and is valid for a period of three years.
5 The two-day course is fully subsidized by the PA and is being offered to you at no cost at all. We would like to urge you to make use of the training opportunity by signing up for the training. Details of the training are:

How do I register?
6 Each class is limited to 25 persons. Registration for the class is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please e-mail or sms me at 9624-5495 to sign up for the course by 29 October 2007.
